Michael A. Leichtling Named Foundation Chair

January 25, 2007 - Mike Leichtling, a partner and member of the Executive Committee of Troutman Sanders LLP, has been named Chairman of the Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation Board of Trustees.

“Mike’s depth of knowledge and experience in lease financing and forward-looking vision are indispensable in carrying out the Foundation’s mission in our evolving industry,” said Lisa Levine, Executive Director of the Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation. “We are delighted to have his talent and dedication at the helm of the Foundation.”

Mike has been involved with the equipment leasing and finance industry throughout his professional career. He is a former director and member of the Executive Committee of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA) and member of the ELFA Legal Committee.

In his position at Troutman Sanders, Mike specializes in equipment leasing, commercial lending and financial services law. He has extensive experience in structuring and documenting the purchase and sale of leasing companies and lease portfolios, securitization facilities, vendor programs, outsource arrangements, strategic business alliances, syndication programs, asset-based credit facilities, technology transfer agreements and equipment finance programs.

“This is a challenging time in the equipment leasing and finance industry and serving as Chair of the Foundation board of trustees gives me the opportunity to support the efforts of everyone working in our industry,” said Leichtling. “The research of the Foundation is more critical than ever in contributing to achieving success.”

Groobert, Partner, Dykema & Gossett PLLC; Treasurer Joseph Stewart, Chief Operation Officer, Chase Equipment Leasing; and Lisa Levine, Executive Director of the Foundation.
